New Year’s resolution? More than 8 blog ideas for the new year!

It seems like we make resolutions only to break them later. Our favorite story is about the man who starts a gym on January 1st, announcing it will reopen as a bar on February 1st. Members with good intentions pay their membership fees but often stop showing up. A clever form of business financing! How are your resolutions coming along? We suggest you start with a resolution that actually works: planning your content strategy! A systematic approach helps you achieve your online marketing goals.

Resolution: create more content

resolutionsWe discovered that the tradition of making resolutions dates back to the Babylonians, and people have been breaking them for centuries. In the Christian tradition, the first day of the new year is used to reflect on past mistakes and decide how to improve the coming year. The big problem with resolutions is that we think we have infinite time (a year is long), but when it comes down to it, time runs out. We often see this with our clients’ content strategies. They want to, but in the daily rush it just doesn’t happen. And when you finally have an hour, what should I write? The solution is simple; start now by deciding which content should be published when!

Content planning and 8 content ideas

And before you say: Yes, how can I possibly know all that already!? You can’t know 100%. But you’ll be surprised how much of your year is actually already set. Even if you want to publish weekly, you can already determine half of the items now. Think of the year-end greeting with a look back/the New Year’s greeting looking ahead, the already planned purchase or commissioning of machines, fixed industry events or themes, project delivery dates, or your campaign around the World Cup. Plenty of ideas! Besides all these topics, we want to give you the following 8 items to add to your list:

  1. How we still made project Z a success

  2. Why we look forward to our visit to Trade Fair X 2014

  3. Our client Y achieves solution A with our product Z

  4. What we think of ABN Amro’s Q3 industry figures

  5. 3 new products that are also important for you

  6. Our impressions and photos from Trade Fair X 2014

  7. 5 reasons why we are proud of the past six months

  8. Proud of project Y for client X!

Take 2 hours, some sheets of A4 paper, and make a plan. Publish something weekly? Don’t get up before you’ve written down 52 ideas. And an idea that’s fun in April can often be produced again in November with a slightly different angle. And if you really get stuck, you can always call us for more inspiration.

We look forward to your ideas and stories in the coming year!
