Intern Kai Buis introduces himself

In February 2022, Kai Buis, 20 years old and a final-year Commercial Economics student at Avans University of Applied Sciences in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, started at Merkelijkheid. He found a challenging graduation internship at Merkelijkheid for the final phase of his studies.

During his education, he gained many insights into sales and marketing that he now wants to apply in practice. During his internship, Kai will conduct research for Merkelijkheid on possible sales optimization. The customer journey and the various (digital and physical) touchpoints during customer journeys play an important role in this. “The fact that the world of sales and marketing is becoming increasingly digital, data-driven, and more intertwined is a dimension I find very interesting,” says Kai Buis.

The internship will result in more insight, advice, and the actual implementation of improvement opportunities. The question of how to handle lead follow-up more effectively with the goal of converting more customers from the provided leads is one of the key aspects. “Through internal and external analyses, I hope to develop a qualitative action plan and implement it within the organization of Merkelijkheid,” says Kai.

Kai is no stranger to entrepreneurship. Besides studying, he runs his own video production company KM Connect together with his partner. His internship will also give him insight into how to effectively deal with (potential) customers. In short, Merkelijkheid offers me the opportunity to develop myself in the field of sales and gives me the space to bring about change within the organization with the goal of acquiring more customers.
