“New Year’s Resolution? More than 8 Blog Ideas for the New Year!”

It seems like we make New Year’s resolutions just to break them later. One of our favorites is the story of the man who opens a gym on January 1st, announcing that it will reopen as a bar on February 1st. After all, members with good intentions pay their membership fees and often don’t show up. A clever form of business financing! How are your New Year’s resolutions going? We suggest starting with a resolution that actually works: planning your content strategy! A systematic approach will help you achieve your online marketing goals.

Resolution: Create more content

voornemens

We discovered that the tradition of New Year’s resolutions has been around since the Babylonians, so people have been breaking them for centuries. In the Christian tradition, the first day of the new year is used to reflect on past mistakes and determine how to make the coming year better. The big problem with resolutions is that we think we have endless time (a year is long), but when it comes down to it, we often run out of time. We often see this with our clients in terms of content strategy. They want to create content, but in the hustle and bustle of daily life, it often gets pushed aside. And when you do have an hour to spare, what should you write about? The solution is simple: plan now for what content needs to be published when!

Content Planning and 8 Content Ideas

Before you say, “But how can I know all of that now!?” Remember that much of your year is already planned out, even if not 100%. You’d be surprised how many content topics you can determine right now. Even if you want to publish something every week, you can already establish half of the items. Think about the year-end greeting with a retrospective or the New Year’s greeting looking ahead, the already scheduled purchase or implementation of machinery, regular industry events or themes, project delivery dates, or your activities related to a major event like the World Cup. There are plenty of ideas! In addition to all these topics, we want to give you these 8 items that you can fill in on your list:

1. How we turned Project Z into a success story
2. Why we’re looking forward to our visit to Exhibition X 2014
3. Our customer Y achieves solution A with our product Z
4. Our thoughts on ABN Amro’s Q3 industry figures

5. 3 new products that are important for you too
6. Our impressions and photos from Exhibition X 2014
7. 5 reasons why we’re proud of the past six months
8. Proud of Project Y for Customer X!

Take 2 hours, some sheets of paper, and create a plan. Planning to publish something every week? Don’t stop until you have 52 ideas written down. And an idea that works well in April can often be revisited with a slightly different angle in November. If you’re really stuck, you can always call us for more inspiration.

We look forward to hearing your ideas and stories in the coming year!
