New colleague: Daniël Treep (Front-End Developer)

We are pleased to introduce our new colleague: Daniël Treep. Daniël wanted to develop himself into a front-end developer and was looking for a job. After applying to various design agencies, his brother, who works at a marketing agency, suggested that he might also apply to a marketing agency instead of a design agency. This is because the tasks overlap. Soon after, he found Merkelijkheid through an online search for Front-End developer vacancies. From the very first meeting, he felt at home, and the feeling was mutual.

“Because I had little experience with Front-End Development, I was looking for a nice company where I could also learn a lot. From the start, Merkelijkheid made it clear that they wanted to train me to become a high-quality developer. I initially took some short UX and UI courses and then was given a lot of freedom to really get started. Jens’s guidance is good, but Merkelijkheid is truly a ‘doing’ company, which is the best way for me to develop.

Working and learning

I can learn a lot from Jens’s many years of experience; together we tackle the challenges. The great thing about working at Merkelijkheid is that you really see your results in practice. You are part of various processes for clients, and your work appears on their websites. The project I am most proud of is creating the new Merkelijkheid website. Starting with an idea and fully developing and building it into a well-functioning website with the right structure.” This will go live soon!

Athletics and travel

Besides the new challenge at Merkelijkheid, Daniel is also sporty and adventurous. He enjoys playing the piano and has a great passion for athletics, participating in long jump and sprinting. He also loves traveling, especially backpacking; Bolivia and Peru were destinations that sparked his travel bug.

“In the future, I would love to travel much more, to countries like Japan, Mexico, and Argentina. Patagonia in Argentina is very high on my wishlist.

We warmly welcome Daniël to Merkelijkheid and wish him a great development as a front-end developer.
