A search engine crawler is the robot used by search engines that reads your website. This crawler follows links and discovers new pages and information, so your website is included in the search engine’s database.

If you hear the term search engine crawler for the first time, it might sound like a scary mythical creature, but in reality, we are talking about the robots that scour the internet for information. We have already briefly discussed what the crawler does, namely the primary process of the search engine: crawling your website.

This crawler follows links and discovers new pages and information. If the crawler is blocked by, for example, an incorrect link structure or poorly readable pages, it cannot crawl and index the information on your website, and you will not be found on Google. It is therefore essential to give the crawler the best possible access to your website!
