What are H1 and H2 headings?

Beantwoord door het team van Merkelijkheid Bijgewerkt op

H1 is the title of your page. Use H2 to indicate chapters and sometimes even H3 to denote subheadings. On your page, use H1 only once, namely in the title of your page. You can use H2 and H3 as many times as you want, keeping in mind that the purpose of headings is to create an easily readable hierarchy of the information you are trying to convey.

Just like the meta description and the structure of your website, visitors appreciate different headings. It makes the text clear and helps people quickly find the information they are looking for. Headings are also relevant for Google; the crawler expects you to share important information in your headings about what a visitor can expect and thus what the text is about.
